Today in Prijedor a religious service was held for innocent victims of war from Carakovo and Zecovi. Service was held in Carakovo mosque which was rebuilt in 2009. Like many other Muslim and Catholic religious buildings in Prijedor, Carakovo mosque was completely destroyed in 1992.
Today’s service began with the reading of 393 names of killed civilians. Merjema Dizdarevic, whose father was a local imam and one of the victims, read out the long list of victims. It is considered that number of killed from Carakovo and Zecovi area is over 400, however 393 victims have been confirmed so far.

Let them rest in piece. They will not be forgotten, the MUST not be forgotten even in the forsaken town like Prijedor, where the genocide is being denied constantly. In Serbian language exists a saying: Gde će ti duša? – Where will your soul go? I would like to ask those who deny that atrocities like this ever happened: Gde će vam duša? Where will your soul go? Though I fear that they not have the soul as they do not have conscience.
